Student Council will host a Veterans Breakfast. Pictures will be taken of veterans with their guest students or with their families, and complimentary photos will be given to families.

Aspen Crossing

November 8

1:30 p.m.

A display of military vehicles accompanied by members of the US Navy and Marines, servicemen and women from Buckley Air Force Base. Students will get to go through the various vehicles, followed by a parade for our guests and parents in the service.

Belleview

November 8

2:00 p.m.

The school will display a Veterans Honor Wall where community members are honored by our students with writing and photos. At 2 p.m. there will be an assembly for community veterans. Boy Scouts will lead Pledge of Allegiance and seat honorees. RSVP 720 554-3100

Black Forest Hills

November 8

Breakfast, 8:00 a.m. Assembly, 9:15 a.m.

Our Veterans Week celebration will include a  breakfast and an assembly. Students in each grade are preparing a keynote presentation entitled "What is a Veteran?" It will feature their writing, videos, photos, put together using our technology.  Our patriotic choir will perform. RSVP 720 886-8900

Buffalo Trail

The school will host a schoolwide assembly featuring a veteran parent speaker along with the 743rd  Military Intelligence Battalion Color Guard and a student choir performance.

Campus

The school will host an assembly with musical performances and students reading written work in honor of the diverse experiences of veterans. RSVP 720 554-2704

Canyon Creek

November 8

6:00 p.m.

Open House and dessert social for veterans and their families. Two military vehicles from Buckley Air Force Base will be on site for students to tour.  Students are participating in the Adopt A Soldier program and have also created a video montage of military family members and those who have served who are associated with the school.

Cherokee Trail

CTHS will host a Thank you to Veterans at our Varsity Football Game on Oct. 26. Veterans

A Wall of Honor will feature photos and memorabilia to honor veterans of the past and present, as well as student art and essays. On Nov. 15, the school will also present "The Patriots," a musical performance and living wax museum honoring veterans. Students will discover and celebrate courageous Americans who possessed strong beliefs in truth, justice and freedom, and veterans, whose deeds still define patriotism. The public is welcome.

Veterans Week Assembly will begin with a military color guard posting the colors and students singing patriotic songs. A Wall of Honor will feature "bricks" with each veteran’s name, rank and military service on them. Military uniforms and photos will be displayed in our front hall.

Fifth grade students will perform a play about the meaning of Veterans Day, sing patriotic songs, view a slideshow of the history of veterans, honor our veteran guests and close with a message from our principal.  Veterans will then go into classrooms and share their story along with a Q&A. Dakota Valley

Continental breakfast for veterans and active duty military service members and families.    Assembly featuring the Dakota Valley Cub Scout Color Guard presenting the colors, second graders singing patriotic songs, and participation by Buckley Air Force Base personnel. Memorabilia from staff members who have family members who are veterans or activity duty service members will be on display. Patriotic student artwork will be on  display at Cherokee Trail High School. Every class is adopting a soldier.

Dry Creek

Veterans Week Brunch followed by an assembly in which we sing songs and read pieces for the veterans. Veterans will introduce themselves and tell our students which branch of the military they served in, what type of job they did and where they were deployed. Eaglecrest

Picadilly Street will be lined with 75 American flags welcoming veterans to a breakfast in their honor. The hallways will be decorated with artwork created by AP Studio art students and displays recognizing both active and retired military personnel. Following breakfast a group of veterans will lead the school in saying the Pledge of Allegiance. RSVP 720 886-1018

All school assembly for our veterans and SOAR award winners. Our Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts will present the flags. We will honor our veterans and active duty servicemen and women who will share how their military experience helped them develop the qualities of a champion.

Veterans from the Highline community will talk with 3rd, 4th & 5th grade students about the "Spirit of Service." Students will design and write Tribute cards and conduct a Halloween Candy Give Back Drive.

High Plains

Veterans are invited in to visit with and read to students in their classrooms. Bulletin boards will feature photos and information about staff and family members who are veterans and active duty military.

Mission Viejo

The morning will begin with a school-wide assembly featuring our school choir and a local all-veterans honor guard to post colors. Veterans will then have the opportunity to visit classrooms for an hour. Our Veterans Day celebration includes a "Military and Muffins continental breakfast, a showing of the video "Proud To Be An American," an "Appreciation March" around the hallways as students wave flags. Assembly featuring the Past Commander of The Military Order of the Purple Heart,  Roy Ray, followed by a reception. All week there will be a Tribute to Veterans display featuring  artifacts from school and community members.

The school is conducting a fundraiser for Wounded Warriors, and will hold grade level assemblies with this organization that helps injured veterans. The  school also will display yard signs honoring veterans.

7th grade students will interview a veteran, create a display about them, and place it in the Gallery of Veterans inside and outside our school. The Wildcats Honor Hall will feature memorabilia from local veterans. On Nov. 5, local veterans will spend time visiting with students in the Wildcat Hall. Willow Creek
