Exceptional Volunteers honored for service to students, schools

2018 Exceptional Volunteer Katie Bradley

Enthusiastic.  Organized.  Dedicated.  Devoted to children. Those are just a few of the words used to describe the 62 people honored during the Cherry Creek School District’s 2018 Exceptional Volunteer Event held April 12 at the Denver Marriott Southeast.

These dedicated individuals spend countless hours serving in classrooms and on committees and organizing dozens of events ranging from book fairs to fundraisers. Most importantly, they provide support and inspiration to students and teachers in every Cherry Creek school every day of the year.

2018 Exceptional Volunteer Carol Grams“Whether they’re helping an individual student or serving on a district committee, all of these volunteers are harnessing their own inner sense of kindness and dedication to help provide an outstanding education to more than 54,000 children,” said Dr. Harry Bull, superintendent of Cherry Creek Schools. “Our work depends on their selflessness, and we’re grateful for them.”

The 2018 Exceptional Volunteers were nominated by every elementary, middle and high school in the district. Each honoree received the Wendy DeBell Exceptional Volunteer Award, named after longtime volunteer and former Board of Education President Wendy DeBell.
