Boys and girls between the ages of seven and 14 are invited to a free football skills camp featuring Denver Broncos Wide Receiver Brandon Lloyd, other members of the Denver Broncos, college and high school coaches, and members of the Overland High School football team. The Brandon Lloyd-Overland High School Football Skills Camp will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, July 29, at Overland High School, 12400 E. Jewell Avenue, Aurora, CO 80012. The camp is free and limited to 500 students.
“We’re excited to be able to offer young student-athletes the opportunity to work with some of the best players and coaches in the game,” said Ronnie Woolfork, who is entering his second season as head football coach at Overland High School. “We’ll help them develop and improve their football fundamentals, including blocking, tackling, speed training, passing, agility, running and jumping.”
Student-athletes from Prairie Middle School, who spent part of their summer taking accelerated math and science classes, will be among the participants.
“We want to thank them for working out academically this summer, by giving them the chance to work out athletically,” said Chris Denmark, assistant principal at Prairie Middle School. “In Cherry Creek Schools, we support our students through quality academics, athletics, arts and activities.”
Support for the camp is provided by Cherry Creek Schools, Overland High School and generous local businesses. Officers from the Aurora Police Department and Aurora Fire Department will also be on hand to visit with students that day.
